System Overview

The RWD cryostat features superior usability with excellent safety standards for all types of cryo-sectioning applications. This Cryostat is able to cut tissues at low temperatures (as low as -35 °C). When working with delicate specimens (example being brain samples) the system will provide reproducible, thin, serial sections of maximum quality time and again. The tissue can be flattened, and the freezing expedited with a steel weight/heat extractor to provide a smooth flat cutting surface. It is the instrument of choice for all research applications and even for advanced clinical cryo-sectioning needs.

Both fully automated and semi-automated versions of the RWD Cryostat are available.

Smart simple touchscreen functionality

Easily set or modify set points on a touchscreen menu. The intelligent touchscreen interface is designed to provide complete data visibility to create or modify all needed setpoints.

Motion compensation function

Provides enhanced image quality on imaging dynamic organs, automatically compensating for the effects of respiratory motions and brain pulses

Precision is key

Researchers need to have confidence that each slice is the same over the course of sectioning a sample. The RWD cryostat provides researchers with that confidence. It has a precise motor stepping system to ensure sectioning quality. The system also contains an anti-roll plate to prevent slices from curling.

Safety is key

The system comes with UV disinfection, to reduce the risk of contamination with infectious materials. The knife has a guard and retracting device to protect the safety of the operator. Last, the RWD system has alarm functions for remaining injection to prompt the sectioning process in time to ensure smooth cuts.
